Hope everyone's Christmas was lots of fun. The highlight of mine was that I got to be superbaby. I like that a lot.

My name is James Cason Burley, but everybody calls me Jake. I'm almost 10 weeks old. So far, I'd say I'm a very well-rounded guy. I like to do lots of activities, like swinging

...but I'm not afraid to relax with my blanket!

Family is very important to me

but I like hanging out with friends, too.

Sorry I've been so lax at updating the blog, but growing like this takes a lot of time and energy (for EVERYONE! lol) Here is one of my Christmas pictures (my daddy took it!). I really like it, but I'm biased ;-)

Hello James Cason Burley

Mom and Jake are doing fine. Jake was delivered by c section around 8:00 on 10/1/09. Mom was in labor for a long day. The labor started the previous day and we went to the hospital where the various drug cocktails were administered.

Her water broke around 10:00 AM, she started to dilate and by 2:00 she was already at 7cm. Unfortunately at 7:00 she was still at 7cm, so they scheduled a c section. Mom was very brave and the process was super short, within 10 minutes little Jake made his appearance!

Trey has been playing on facebook

On cloudy days like this it's good to update our social media.

Such is the case with Trey's facebook account, he's also updated flickr and has pledged to update twitter more often.

Jenny too is taking it easy, updating sites and waiting for the baby. We're going to eat Italian tonight, relax and watch a movie in what could be the last child free weekend.

Just about 35 weeks!

Wow - Aunt Cindy sure did a great job on that tree! Would you believe she did that in one night?

Apparently Daddy and Papa worked all that weekend fixing some things for Mommy with an electric drill and needle-nose pliers. It might be a while til I get to play with those toys!!

The Nursery

Wow look at all of these presents -- I can't wait til I can be swaddled in those blankets!

Maternity Photos!

This is mommy at 29 weeks (daddy is the photographer). I heard that she likes her hair much better when it's highlighted, but she heard it's safer not to color her hair until I'm born. Looks like a great house - can't wait to see it in person!

...and the nursery progresses!

Baby Burley (bb) says,
"Daddy was on fire today -- he painted the whole room and assembled my new crib too! I think we're going to be able to start decorating tomorrow! I can't believe this is going to be my new room in just under three months!" Below are some pictures of the room as of 4:45pm!

The Nursery Saga Continues

The nursery project has officially begun! Trey has been busy this week moving out the bed and all of the junk. On my day off yesterday I went to Sherwin Williams and got the paint (we'll be going with a khaki). And now...Trey has finished patching, sanding and priming!

Also, today baby Burley kicked so hard that I saw my stomach giggle (note: not normally a good thing, but trust me, in this case, I'm VERY excited!) Trey hasn't been able to feel him kick very much so far, so I'm excited for him to be able to see a little more! ;-)

Baby Burley at 23 Weeks!

Now this is one well-photographed baby! And he isn't even out of the womb yet! Here is another cool ultrasound from the hospital of baby burley at 23 weeks. I know he likes pink lemonade and ice cream, because the kicks start pretty soon after! Already, we have a lot in common!

The Nursery Saga

I had an idea from a very intelligent friend of mine to monitor the progress of the nursery. Well, here is the "nursery". Yep, pretty bad.
We're going to pick the paint color to match the crib bedding set.

So off to get the crib bedding set...more to come!

My sister ROCKS!

We now officially have a crib! Cindy gave us the opportunity to purchase an $80.00 crib WITH the mattress - and we did! This weekend we're going to get the bedding set to go with it! Can't wait!! Thank you again Cindy!!

19 1/2 Weeks

Today was our 20 week ultrasound - Trey must have been right at our last appointment - we're having a baby boy!! I am doing well, and Trey has painted and sanded our upper hallway and bonus room completely by himself! I say he's nesting (but he says that's something girls do!)

Just swimming around

This is Baby Burley at 14.5 weeks. I thought I saw the trade mark 'boy' markings when the ultra sound was being done. Jenny went to the doctor today and the next appointment is in the middle of May, then we'll know the sex for sure. Otherwise mom and baby are just resting. Jenny is doing doing good post appendectomy and we're celebrating one week back since the hospital.

Much to Jenny's chagrin I'm also uploading a photo of the cats, don't tell her.

15 weeks and counting

That's Jenny and I shortly after our wedding. She was unsuccessful in her attempt to run away and we're 1.75 years into a very happy marriage. The black dog is Abby, our three legged retriever who saved a boys life once. The golden is Wilson, a gently retriever who will smother our pending child with licks, comfort and love. The cats, are equally cute and will present themselves later. Jenny is the top dog in the house though. I love her and she'll be a fabulous mother.
